During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. Burks has an excellent bedside manner and rapport with my husband and me. She explains things thoroughly and checks in with us to make sure we understand.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
I have met several nurses at this clinic and they are all excellent. They are friendly, take the time to put us at ease, and always return my calls as soon as possible.
How was your experience with Heather Burks?
At first, we saw the nurse practitioner for 4 IUIs. When those all failed, Dr. Burks became our primary care RE. She had previously done a couple of our ultrasounds for IUI (because the nurse practitioner was on maternity leave), and she was watching a cyst that was growing on my left ovary. Once our IUIs were over and we began talking about IVF, she encouraged us to remove the cyst because it had grown and its character had changed over several months. Dr. Burks removed the cyst, which turned out to be a benign dermoid cyst (containing hair and teeth). She did an excellent job on the surgery and I am very confident in moving forward to IVF with her.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Heather Burks?
I was terrified of having the laparoscopy, but that anticipation was the worst part. Dr. Burks is very capable and will call you personally to follow up and keep you informed of all of your lab results.
Describe the protocols Heather Burks used in your cycles and their degree of success.
We will be starting IVF with Dr. Burks after my ovary has headed (about 8 weeks).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Heather Burks.
We have paid about $550 per IUI cycle, including the Clomid, Pregnyl shot, lab costs, and the procedure itself.

OU Reproductive Center is very welcoming and the front staff is super friendly. Be prepared for limited parking or having to walk a little distance and sometimes the wait time for your appointment can be a little longer than desired. I think the longest I had to wait was about 30 minutes. Overall it is a great clinic to use.... Dr. Burks nursing staff were awesome. They celebrated with us during every milestone that we accomplished and also showed us tons of compassion when we encountered set backs.

During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. Burks talks with her patients and makes sure that they understand everything that is going on. She does a great job of spending plenty of time with each of her patients and will return phone calls either the same day or the next day.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
Dr. Burks nursing staff were awesome. They celebrated with us during every milestone that we accomplished and also showed us tons of compassion when we encountered set backs.
How was your experience with Heather Burks?
Dr. Burks has been a very good doctor during this journey. She has answered all of our questions fully and made sure we understood all the risks and success rates with our treatment route. When I conceived off of the first round of meds she made sure I was seen in a timely manner. Even though that pregnancy ended in a loss she has been very compassionate and has talked us through how to proceed on. She has never been pushy in what type of treatment we should pursue.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Heather Burks?
Do not hesitate to ask questions. She sometimes forgets to tell you all of the details but she will answer any and all questions you have.
Describe the protocols Heather Burks used in your cycles and their degree of success.
Dr. Burks told us that we needed to start this journey by me losing 15% of my BMI. Once I had lost that weight she moved us onto using letrozole during cycle day 3-7 followed by a trigger shot. She told us that this would be the method most likely to help with my anovulation. She told us that she has had better luck with letrozole working with her patients who have PCOS. It did work the first round but unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.

Describe your experience with OU Physicians Reproductive Health.
Everyone from the receptionist to the check out person is so encouraging, even in times of distress. I do wish they had appointments for treatment available in the later part of the afternoon, but that just what would work best for my schedule. The clinic opens at 730 and closes at 430. Bloodwork appointments are typically from 730-830 and then IUI appointments are anywhere from 10-1130 am and then consults etc are in the afternoon. I can’t say what the schedule is like for IVF treatments as I’m not at that step.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr Craig makes sure to ask questions about me that aren’t related to just infertility. And I never feel rushed like she doesn’t have time to answer a question I might have. There have been a few times where I’ve found something on google and have asked her about it and she never got offended or acted like I was trying to second guess her. She just explained why we hadn’t gone that direction for me, or explained why it may not have been good information. She’s never made me feel like I was stupid for bringing something up. I’ve been to doctors where if you mention something they stop short of rolling their eyes and blow you off. I’ve never felt that way with Dr Craig.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
Every nurse I have had experience with except for one has been the best experience I’ve ever had with a doctors office nursing staff. The nurse that I haven’t had the most positive experience with I would say it’s because our personalities clash, and not because she is not a good nurse or capable.
How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
Dr Craig has always made me feel like I was important. She doesn’t sugar coat things, but is able to say things in a way that is to the point but not harsh. I have weight issues and she’s never once made me feel like being overweight was the root cause of my issues with infertility. But she has pointed out that by losing weight I can increase my chances, but never made me feel ashamed or guilty for being overweight. I’m not one to ask a lot of questions but I do a lot of my own research and basically everything that I’ve found has corresponded with the plans Dr Craig has used for me. And the few questions I have had have been explained as to why we haven’t gone a particular route in a respectful manner and didn’t leave me feeling like I was less of a person because I didn’t have the Dr in front of my name. If you are looking for a doctor that only talks about rainbows and butterflies and holds your hand and treats you with kid gloves, Dr Craig is not going to be the doctor for you. But if you are looking for a real human that is rooting for you to be a mom and sets realistic expectations a long the way, then Dr Craig would be a great fit for you.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of LaTasha Craig?
Trust that she knows what she is doing, but if you have ideas or questions don’t be afraid to voice them. She will respect your opinion, and even if you want to try something that she doesn’t feel like will be the best fit for you, as long as it isn’t harmful she’s willing to let you try. She really lets the patient guide their steps within reason of course.
Describe the protocols LaTasha Craig used in your cycles and their degree of success.
I came to Dr Craig after having tried 3 rounds of clomid and times intercourse and 3 or 4 rounds of Femara and timed intercourse through my OBGYN. After my first meeting we decided to try an IUI on my next cycle. We ended up doing four cycles with IUI and on the fourth cycle I was pregnant! Unfortunately when we went in for our ultrasound it was discovered that I had a septum in my uterus and the baby had attached to the septum tissue which isn’t healthy tissue and so the baby didn’t grow. I was crushed. In the week that followed I expressed my frustration of having to go back for another ultrasound to confirm what we already knew. I’ve always been a okay what do we do next kind of person, and so having to wait was really hard. Once we had confirmation that the baby was attached to the septum we induced miscarriage using cytotec. And once my hcg level was back to the negative range we scheduled surgery to remove the septum. Dr Craig performed the surgery, my septum was very minimal. I should also mention that I had done an HSG with my OBGYN and it wasn’t repeated with Dr Craig and the HSG didn’t reveal the septum. I don’t want to give the impression that Dr Craig missed diagnosing the septum, she didn’t. Once the surgery was complete we did 4 rounds of timed intercourse with no drugs while working on weight loss. Then we did five more IUI’s without success. We are currently saving for IVF as our next step so treatment is on pause currently.
Describe the costs associated with your care under LaTasha Craig.
Everything possible that can be billed to insurance has been. But I don’t have fertility coverage so IUI’s have been out of pocket. The total cost of the IUI for self pay is $350-$400.

Some of their [OU Phys Repro Med] strengths are that they are top of the line, always trying new things, always having several clinical trials, very professional, helpful and kind. Weaknesses are just feeling like another patient but I don't know how you can help that with such a busy place. I would really appreciate a printed paper or email that covered each visit....She [RN] was wonderful! She helped us to feel completely comfortable and even excited about the process.

Weaknesses are just feeling like another patient but I don't know how you can help that with such a busy place. I would really appreciate a printed paper or email that covered each visit.

They treated us fine. It is just so busy that it's easy to feel overwhelmed.
Describe your experience with your nurse.
She was wonderful! She helped us to feel completely comfortable and even excited about the process. She was so easy to communicate with that I considered her a friend, but she was still very professional! I was actually sad to leave her when our treatment was over.
How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
She was kind, caring and explained things well. It can be a bit of an overwhelming process and would be very helpful if she could hand me a print out of what she covers. They did give me a few papers that needed to be updated.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of LaTasha Craig?
Ask questions several times if you are like me and need to take notes
Describe the protocols LaTasha Craig used in your cycles and their degree of success.
I used clomid, a trigger shot and iui three times. I used femara ( I think is what it's called) instead of clomid because we were afraid that clomid was thinning my lining. I was told that my clomid dosage was considered normal until I started in on a study then my clomid dosage doubled and that was awful! My mood swings were unlike anything I have ever experienced!!!
Describe the costs associated with your care under LaTasha Craig.
around $450 per iui cycle times 4 so a couple thousand dollars. three cycles were completely free because of an experimental trial with male vitamins

During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr Hanson has compassion for his patients and I felt like I was his only patient when I'm talking to him.
Describe your experience with your nurse.
They are all amazing! I couldn't ask for a better support team. They know everything I'm going thru and each step to help me thru
How was your experience with Karl Hansen?
I have went thru several losses including a stillbirth so Dr Hanson worked thru my anxiety of doing treatments. He has changed my treatments to fit me not just text book treatments. The first retrieval I felt like it wasn't going to be successful and Dr Hanson kept talking to me about positivity and keeping my faith.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karl Hansen?
Write down your questions, keep your faith, and let dr hanson do what he does best which is try to get you the baby of your dreams.
Describe the protocols Karl Hansen used in your cycles and their degree of success.
1st retrieval- follistim, ganirelix, menopur 75mg, and trigger shot. 14 eggs retrieved, 13 fertilized without assistance, 2 "B+" eggs, 9 "B" eggs, 2 "C" eggs. The 2 "B+" eggs were transferred on day 5 the rest did not make it to freeze. Negative pregnancy test. 2nd retrieval- birth control, lupron, follistim, menopur, trigger shot. 18 eggs retrieved, 16 fertilized on their own, transferred 2 grade "B" on day 3, 2 made it to freeze. During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. Craig was so friendly and empathetic. She guided my spouse and I through the physiological part of infertility, but was also mindful of the emotional component. She was kind but realistic when setting expectations for us.

How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
I loved hearing about the specifics of each process and procedure, and Dr. Craig really took the time to go into details with me. I felt like she probably didn't do that with everyone, but she knew it made me more comfortable, so she took the time to do that, which I really appreciated. Even though we didn't have the desired outcome, Dr. Craig walked alongside us for the entire journey - the good and the bad - and was there to explain and support.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of LaTasha Craig?
Write down the questions you have before your visit -- it's a nurse that will call you back if something comes up later, Dr. Craig is mostly available during your scheduled visits.
Describe the protocols LaTasha Craig used in your cycles and their degree of success.
Clomid or letrozole with trigger shot for IUI. We did this four times. None were successful. Dr. Craig gave us the option of more IUI or moving on to IVF.
Describe the costs associated with your care under LaTasha Craig.
Three of our IUIs were through a NIH grant, which they helped us qualify for, so the costs were minimal for those. The 4th IUI was about $600, which we paid out of pocket.

Honestly, I just don't think they [OU Physicians Repro Med] were super on top of things or as personal as the first time we used them (comparing 2013 to 2017). I felt like I had to call them (when last time, they were proactive). I never had the same nurse which was disappointing...The IVF Coordinator did not call our medication in. The day prior to start of medication, I called the clinic. She called them in then, and told us, "you are on medication far longer than you need to be." I wasn't able to price medication. Therefore, I believe we payed more than we should have.

During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Oh bless! It's a small clinic--everyone knew us and knew our story! They cared about us and us getting a baby!
Describe your experience with your nurse.
Ugh. She started out great, but she made a mistake by not ordering meds for us. So, I called frustrated because the meds weren't ordered, and I wanted to price them out with different companies. After that she was cold and uninterested in the process. That cycle was a chemical. The next cycle, we got the calendar. She had dates messed up (listed LAST DAY OF BIRTH CONTROL in all caps but had birth control pill listed to take the next day). I asked her about this, and she responded. But, it honestly made me question the entire process. Were our meds correct? Right dosage? Etc? How detailed had she been in creating the calendar? And again, super distant after I questioned her.
What specific things went wrong at this clinic?
  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Provided conflicting information
How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
LaTasha is a warm and caring woman. She was kind when my ovarian reserve was low, and she helped adjust my meds along the way to help. I was very happy to use her. It's been 4 years since my last treatment, and we are gearing up for another round--this time we got hugs! She was also interested in our other 2 children. She knew her stuff medically as well...but her warmth was comforting during this time.

Be patient.

You have to be an advocate for yourself during this time but OU makes everything so much easier. The clinic is working for you and someone is always there to help. There is a lot of time that goes into infertility treatments and people need to know that this may take longer than you anticipated but they are working to help you achieve your goal. Don’t lose hope because they will help you every step of the way.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Very helpful and anwsered all questions. Never made me feel like I was stupid for not understanding. Felt as though she was just as disappointed as we were each month of no success, but continued to stay positive and keep trying.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
Wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. Many of the nursing staff were fabulous able to answer my questions and ready to explain why and how for everything. It was really nice to know you had someone in your corner.
How was your experience with Heather Burks?
Great physician. I need someone to tell me exact what they think and not sugar coat anything. If we need to do something different tell me and don’t waste my time. Dr. Burks did a great job with telling me exactly what I needed and listening to my concerns and planning a course of action.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Heather Burks?
Make sure you Ask questions if you don’t understand.
Describe the protocols Heather Burks used in your cycles and their degree of success.
We started with monitored Medicated IUI’s. I had been to a previous Physican where we did medicated cycles with clomid and Femara for over a year with out monitoring. I originally saw a different doctor at OU and was transferred to Dr. Butks after he left the practice. She continued with the same protocol for a year and now we are having to move onto IVF. We had to move onto this after discovering that my husband has double Varicoceles and IVF is the best plan after this diagnosis. So in process of saving for this now. On hold until we can save money to go forward.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Heather Burks.
I have really good insurance that covers all ultrasound and Bloodwork for every appointment. So most appointments were just our co-pay. I had a HSG Test that was also covered by our insurance. My fertility meds Femara was covered, however our HCG trigger shot and the cost of IUI’s were not covered. Each IUI cycle was $350 and the trigger shot was $100. We are currently saving for IVF which the actual cost is unknown since we haven’t started the treatment. Costs vary greatly from person to person but we have one time IVF benefits with our insurance so it will be much less out of pocket for us than normal.

OURM is obviously a huge clinic serving many patients, but we never felt like a number. From insurance coverage to scheduling to recovery, everything was exceptional.... We had insurance coverage so merely needed to meet our deductible, but we did have several conversations about costs for the various procedures and I do know they offered a cash price for self-pay patients. However, when I was a monitor-only patient during my time with a long-distance clinic, I did pay a significant fee for my monitoring appointments that went away when I became a patient.

Describe your experience with OU Physicians Reproductive Health.
OURM is obviously a huge clinic serving many patients, but we never felt like a number. From insurance coverage to scheduling to recovery, everything was exceptional.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. BUrks goes out of her way to follow up personally and spent the time to answer each of our many questions. She was kind, warm, and compassionate throughout the process.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The nursing staff is exceptional--not a bad one in the bunch and it seemed like they all went out if their way to know us personally, comfort us in the failures, and celebrate with us in the successes.
How was your experience with Heather Burks?
Dr. Burks was our second reproductive endocrinologist and we saw her at a point when we were feeling very discouraged and weary of the process. She was helpful in every way we asked her to be, while also allowing for us to be decision-makers in my care and our process. When we moved to IVF after 4 failed IUIs and the process became more difficult, we felt more confident than ever that we had chosen the perfect doctor for us.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Heather Burks?
Be prepared that the process will likely be harder and longer than you expect, but know that Dr. Burks and her team are in your corner the whole way.
Describe the protocols Heather Burks used in your cycles and their degree of success.
We first went through two monitored and medicated IUIs with Dr. Burks before we moved on to IVF at our direction. Dr. Burks had several conversations with us about ICSI, PGS, and transfer options--she was great at educating us and giving us pros and cons while leaving the final decisions to us.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Heather Burks.

All of the nurses at OU are fabulous. I have never once had a negative experience with any of them. They are all extremely compassionate.... My only complaint is that nothing is done electronically other than your records. I wish they would utilize their patient portal or email with results. They call patients every afternoon with results so I always feel like I’m on edge waiting for the phone call with a pen and notepad waiting to write things down.

Describe your experience with OU Physicians Reproductive Health.
My only complaint is that nothing is done electronically other than your records. I wish they would utilize their patient portal or email with results. They call patients every afternoon with results so I always feel like I’m on edge waiting for the phone call with a pen and notepad waiting to write things down. I’d feel a lot better if details were emailed so I could refer back to them. I’m also a numbers person so I’d have to take a picture of the ultrasound screen with my follicle count or measurements or write down my husbands semen analysis numbers. I’d rather just be able to access all of that on a patient portal or email.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
She was very empathetic when speaking to me about IUI and IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse.
All of the nurses at OU are fabulous. I have never once had a negative experience with any of them. They are all extremely compassionate. Each time they call on the phone with results they take time to ask how I’m doing and answer any questions I have without seeming rushed. They given me hugs, consoled me when I’ve cried, and remained optimistic about me getting pregnant throughout the whole process. Amber and Connie are definitely my favorite. They both go above and beyond!
How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
Dr. Craig is caring, upbeat, thorough, and truthful. She is a wonderful doctor and has a great bedside manner while at the same time being honest and upfront about the diagnosis and treatment options.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of LaTasha Craig?
She will do everything in her power to make sure you get pregnant!
Describe the protocols LaTasha Craig used in your cycles and their degree of success.
For my five IUI’s I took 2.5 mg Femara twice a day CD 3-7, came in for an ultrasound on CD 9-10 and sometimes once more if needed. Triggered with 10,000 IU Pregnyl and did the IUI exactly 36 hours later. I always produced 1-3 mature follicles during that time. I was told to take a pregnancy test 15 days after the IUI. For IVF, she chose the Microdose Lupron Protocol. I primed for three weeks with Aygestin bc I can’t take regular birth control. Three days after stopping Aygestin I started Lupron 10ML twice a day. On the third day we added in 375 follostim and 75 Menopur along with the Lupron 10ML twice a day. I had bloodwork done on the third day of stims and my estrogen was 277. They decreased my Follistim to 350. I had bloodwork and ultrasound on day 5, 7, 8 and 9 of stims. They decreased my Follistim each time bc my estrogen kept coming back on the high end. My follicle count on my baseline ultrasound for IVF was 9–10 and on Day 9 of stims I had 23 follicles. I was down to 200 Follistim on Day 9. I triggered at 12:30AM the morning of Day 10 with 10,000 IU a Pregnyl and had my egg retrieval at 11:30 AM on Day 11 (35 hours after trigger). They retrieved 19 eggs. 11 were mature, they fertilized 6 with ICSI and 5 conventional. 3 from the icsi group fertilized and 3 from the conventional group fertilized. On Day 3 we had 3 B+ embryos, 1 B and 2 C’s. She recommended transferring two in Day 3 or waiting until Day 5 and transferring one. We do not want twins so we decided to transfer one on day 5. It was a 4B+A embryo. On Day 6 when my clinic freezes, we had one 4BB+ embryo left to freeze. I came in for bloodwork 10 days after my transfer and 15 days after my egg retrieval and I was not pregnant. We are now gearing up to start a frozen embryo transfer with our one frozen embryo. Dr. Craig recommended not PGS testing due to my age and low AMH and no past history of miscarriages. Based on my past AFC of 5-12 she estimated we’d get approximately 7-10 eggs and we ended up getting 19 so I responded really well to the meds. My husband also has mild male factor infertility with a 1-2% morphology, 37% motility and count of 16-22 million.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments.
Bloodwork and ultrasounds are done between the hours of 7-9 AM. I never had to wait in the waiting room longer than 10-15 mins. Nurses perform the bloodwork and the doctor performs the ultrasounds.
Describe the costs associated with your care under LaTasha Craig.
Medication from Acaria online pharmacy for IVF was $3500. IVF with ICSI was $9580. Anesthesia was $500. IVF sperm work up was $315. ART screening was $167. IVF consult was $50. IUI was $350. IUI ultrasounds and bloodwork were $88. Infectious disease testing was $160.

During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr Karl Hansen’s bedside manner was exemplary. He was warm, genuine, and extremely approachable.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The nursing staff was very good! They were all warm, professional, and friendly.
How was your experience with Karl Hansen?
Dr Hansen was a phenomenal doctor. I found him to be very good at what he does, as well a very kind person. I would recommend him to anyone needing RE services in a heartbeat. He listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions to my satisfaction, was not hurried during appointments, and clearly explained what he would be doing in any procedures.
Describe the protocols Karl Hansen used in your cycles and their degree of success.
I used drugs including Clomid and progesterone shots to prepare for the IUI cycle. I completed one IUI cycle with Dr Hansen, which was unsuccessful, and also did a HSG scan prior to this. I took a one month break before the next IUI and during that time became pregnant with no assistance. I am now 27 weeks pregnant. Dr Hansen was very happy for us! One previous OB mentioned that he had noticed an apparent correlation between patients who had the HSG procedure and subsequently fell naturally pregnant the following month or two. This happened in our case, so we will wonder if maybe it made a difference for us. This other OB theorized that perhaps the HSG dye clbeing flushed through the tubes cleared away congestion in the tubes to increase the likelihood of fertilization.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karl Hansen.
I think IUIs were around $1250 per cycle including everything, medications, iui procedure, related appointments, labs.

All of the nurses at this clinic are friendly, courteous, and compassionate....I was mailed a price list after scheduling my initial appointment. My total cost, not including medication, was about $2,000. My IUI cost $400. I don't remember the individual costs for office visits and ultrasound exams....I had a transvaginal ultrasound to check for abnormalities in anatomy. I had three rounds of 100mg clomiphene with a Novarel injection. On the third round, he performed an intrauterine insemination that was successful. After blood tests confirmed pregnancy, I was given supplemental progesterone in the form of vaginal suppositories.

Wait times for an available appointment can take several months. The waiting room has never been crowded when I've been there. There is a water cooler and a Keurig in the waiting room for patient refreshment.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. Quaas is a very compassionate, caring individual who wanted only the best for me.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
All of the nurses at this clinic are friendly, courteous, and compassionate.
How was your experience with Alexander Quaas?
Before my first appointment, I was incredibly scared. We began the appointment by just talking and I felt at ease very quickly. He was very honest but tactful. He seemed concerned about my overall health and not just my reproductive status.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Alexander Quaas?
He's a native of Germany so be prepared for some cultural differences. This was not a problem for me, but for some it might be.

My husband seemed to be comfortable there. I thought the nurses would try to move too quickly between patients and the clinic felt private when I was being seen. The waiting was never too terrible and they handled my bill properly. The way the gave medicine was weird but I don't have another clinic to compare that too.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
He was nice and subtly blunt. He never got our expectations up too high and gave us the options for our treatments. We could have moved on to other fertility processes if we wanted but felt comfortable with what we were doing.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The nurses did not pay any attention to my chart before they would do the IUIs. So Everytime I'd have to wait extra and then one of the doctors would actually come do it because they couldn't just take two seconds to look at the chart.
What specific things went wrong at this clinic?
  • Lost appointments
How was your experience with Alexander Quaas?
As a patient we loved him and felt very comfortable with him. His schedule with the clinic is less than disirerable. But that is a little out of his control. He was great . My husband felt comfortable with him too.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Alexander Quaas?
Just be blunt with him too on what is going on and your expectations.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Alexander Quaas.
Our insurance covered 75% of the IUIs. Because of the way they did they're prescriptions we paid out of pocket for all the shots about$125 a piece. And insurance covered clomid and famara.

Dr. Quaas was very optimistic that I would end up pregnant. He was very kind and compassionate when I didn't get the results we were hoping for at times. How was your experience with LaTasha Craig?
She was warm and caring. She made me feel like everything would be okay and after trying for so long made me still feel hopeful that I would have a baby. She was such a strength in a time where I emptied of it. I saw Dr.Craig at each visit and that was such an importance to me. I will forever be grateful for all she did for our family.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of LaTasha Craig?
That you will be in great hands with her. I’ve recommended many people to her.

I had tried 8 cycles of clomid and two with HCG shots. The 8th one resulted in pregnancy but soon after a miscarriage. So when I was ready to try again the following year she wanted to be more proactive with Clomid, HCG and an IUI.

I feel that Dr Quaas is confident and knowledgeable. Helpful and eager for the same result that I want. Sometimes I think he knows his job too well that he does forget to explain what a term means or what a test is for but I always ask or the nurses tell me.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Alexander Quaas?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. He always has a good answer and if not then he will find out.
Describe the protocols Alexander Quaas used in your cycles and their degree of success.
The first cycle was hard because it's the cue that they are able to tweak and make sure to know what will be needed for next time. Take Femara CD3 to 7 then HCG injection around CD14. He has us call on CD3 1 or positive hpt. Not success yet but have found the right doses needed to make my cycle move along as "normal"

Wait time has never been longer than 15 minutes and I like that the location of the office is secluded in the office building. They have their own lab but also let you work with one you prefer using. Every staff member is friendly and helpful. I have not had a negative experience here yet!
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Mr.Hansen provided my husband and I with all of our options. He listened to our concerns and educated us on areas we had questions in.
Describe your experience with your nurse.
Karen is an amazing nurse. She communicates with me in a timely manner and is always quick to return phone calls.
How was your experience with Karl Hansen?
I was extremely impressed with Dr.Hansen. The appointment did not feel rushed and he answered all my questions, educated me on lab results and discussed next steps. He was sensitive to our journey and performed only necessary tests. He was honest but still had a caring way of delivering information.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karl Hansen?
Come prepared with previous lab results and detailed history. This will help Dr.Hansen to better understand your fertility journey and get the ball rolling quicker on his plan for you.
Describe the protocols Karl Hansen used in your cycles and their degree of success.
Dr. Hansen suspected low progesterone and advised me to take suppositories during my luteal phase. We will try this for 5 months before moving onto the next treatment.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karl Hansen.
My costs were covered by insurance.

Overall, our experience with the clinic [OU Physicians Reproductive Health] was great. Our insurance did not cover the actual IUI, which was ok. I believe it cost $400. However, we did have several issues getting a few ultrasounds covered after the fact and it took almost a year of talking with the billing department and my insurance to get it corrected...Dr. Hansen was very knowledgable and explained the potential treatment options. Overall, I was satisfied with Dr. Hansen's care. However, on one occasion, I did feel that he could have been more compassionate when discussing the possibility that we could suffer a miscarriage...The nursing staff was excellent. A nurse did my IUI and did an excellent job.

The receptionist [at OU Physicians Reproductive Health] was so friendly at every visit. It was nice to see a smiling face when you are nervous. I remember being greeted by the nurses. The staff always seemed to remember me and ask about specific things going on in my life...After trying to conceive for over 2 years and 2 miscarriages my obgyn sent me to Dr. Hansen. He monitored me as my levels returned to normal after my second miscarriage. Then he ran several tests and performed cleaned out my tubes with a saline wash. He found "unexplained infertility". He said I had a good chance of getting pregnant through IUI and Clomid. He was correct! He monitored me biweekly, then weekly until I was 11weeks. Now baby girl is healthy and well.
